Volume one of Rebels and Rogues is all science fiction, and includes stories from the Freehold universe, Four Horsemen universe, and Jamie's own StarPunk universe.
Volume two of Rebels and Rogues is a mix of science fiction and fantasy. It includes Jamie's Dieselpunk Urban Fantasy sky pirates, the Rebels of Westlocke, another 4HU story, a Salvage universe short story, and Orph Buffington versus Quintus Fox.
Volume three of Rebels and Rogues is a mix of science fiction and post-apocalyptic. It includes a story from John Ringo's Black Tide Rising universe (and a zombie-walloping appearance by my favorite Swamp Donkey Kaiju), three stories in This Fallen World, two stories in the StarPunk universe, and more...
The Pushtal of Vorrhurna were once one of the Mercenary Guild’s 37 races. After a series of disastrous contracts, the tiger-like aliens lost their status as mercenaries and the MinSha seized their homeworld for defaulting on their debt. Eighty years later, the seven Great Clans are but a shadow of their former selves and have resorted to piracy to survive.
For his commissioning mission, Hr’ent Golramm and a small team of bounty hunters must find a way to put a stop to their predations. Not one race or species in the entire Union has figured out how to herd cats – but then again, Hr’ent is a particularly unusual Peacemaker candidate, and may just have to engage in a bit of gunboat diplomacy to get the Pushtal to pay attention, once and for all.
It’s an unbreakable defense versus an unstoppable assault!
Decades after Bull took control of the long-abandoned facility on the moon of Tambu, it has become a refuge, a weapons manufacturing facility, and a holding point for The Company’s varied assets. It has remained one of The Company’s closest-held secrets.
It is not a secret anymore.
With the fleet overwhelmed, casualties piling higher and higher, and the defenders all but eradicated, the Science Guild believes they have free rein. The Guild is wrong. They didn’t count on Ruxandra Roxtador, a mostly-retired Pushtal spy, a small cadre of living science experiments, a trio of fearless Flatar, and Lucille, the base’s synthetic intelligence.
They will hold the facility at all costs, or die fighting.
Daimyo, my short story in From The Ashes, now expanded into a full length novel!
Twenty years after the nuclear exchange that ended modern civilization, Daimyo Rikimaru Hanzo is the senior protector of the Shogunate, a tiny island kingdom north-east of Seattle. When an old enemy from his days before the world fell marches an army to his doorstep, Rikimaru is forced to confront his past in order to forge a future for the people he's sworn to defend - even if it costs him his life.
Some are born weird, some achieve weirdness, and others have weirdness thrust upon them.
- Not Bill Shakespeare, but you get the idea.
This grimoire contains thirteen twisted tales of freaky fantasy, grim gothic, paranormal peculiarities, ominous omens, and supernatural sci-fi.
Whether you like your fantasy darker than black coffee, your multi-verse meta-mischief light as whipped topping, or your sci-fi with Lovecraftian sprinkles, something contained within this tome ought to tickle your taste buds.
All I need is an edge!
As long as humans have competed with each other (for food, profit, and love), people have looked for ways to get an edge on the competition - how to be better, faster, and smarter than the opposition.
With better science and technology, many things are now possible, and there will be many more in the future! Gene splicing will augment your abilities. Implants will make you smarter. Cybernetic systems will make you stronger.
From getting a new personality loaded with the skills you need for a mission to nanobots that keep you from being killed to creating an indestructible tank, anything is possible! But just because we can augment humanity doesn’t necessarily mean we should, and there are cautionary tales inside, as well. Along with the “good” that might be possible, there is also the potential for augmentation to be used for more...nefarious...ends. Will augmentation make better criminals? What happens when someone with implants has their mind taken over? One thing is certain, though. People will dare to augment themselves to get an edge.
The apocalypse is coming! Scientists and science fiction novelists have long predicted various forms of the apocalypse, from plagues to wars to aliens. If there’s a way to end civilization, someone has probably prophesized it. Civilizations rise and civilizations fall…but are you ready for it to happen to you? How will you survive and thrive in the event of an apocalypse?
Edited by Jamie Ibson and Chris Kennedy, “We Dare: Semper Paratus” is a collection of 15 all-new stories that explore the apocalypse and what happens next—from surviving the fall to getting through those first perilous days, to learning how to adapt and survive in the new world survivors find themselves in.
What happens when the nations of Earth fall to a nuclear war, and you’re trapped between the combatants on Mars? What if you need to cross a continent to get to the only safe place? How do you survive living in a Fallen World? One thing is certain—like every civilization before ours, at some point, ours will fall. Will you be ready when that happens? Our authors have dared to look at every type of apocalypse from nuclear war to shadow monsters to darkness falling, and they are ready for the end of the world…are you prepared?
Ripley facing down the Xenomorph Queen. Sarah Connor fighting the Terminator. David Weber’s Honor Harrington. Science fiction novels and the silver screen are full of badass women kicking butt and taking names. Sometimes it’s the momma bear persona stepping up to defend her young, but, other times, she’s just the meanest one standing—bionic arm or not!
Edited by Jamie Ibson and Chris Kennedy, “We Dare: No Man’s Land” is a collection of 15 all-new stories with female leads. Whether it’s changing an engine on the outside of a spaceship’s hull or chasing SimNACs through the jungle, these heroines have only one goal in mind—to win at all costs! From defending asteroid bases to searching giant space stations, these women get the job done!
What makes female leads great? Does it matter—these women are incredible! Be warned though—they may be referred to as the “fairer” sex, but don’t cross these ladies, or you’re gonna get what you have coming! The authors dared write about these awesome women; will you dare to join them on their adventures? If so, step inside. But beware…this is No Man’s Land!
The fourth We Dare anthology is out! Check out fifteen great stories about that most iconic of antiheroes: bounty hunters, and their quarries (who may or may not deserve to be tracked down and brought to justice...)
The fifth and final We Dare anthology released in May 2023. Fifteen stories about veterans, and life after service. Heroic sacrifice, dealing with scumbags who've moved into the wrong neighbourhood, bounty hunting, dealing with Veteran's Affairs... these stories cover it all!
